In the same way, this starkly modern style from a collection known for classic artistry symbolizes ever expanding horizons of an enduring brand. Coolly angular, this dramatic timepiece combines a rich black case and gradated brown dial with gleaming gold hands and indices to suggest the rays of dim light at akatsuki, with the gold seconds hand darting like an arrow of light through the darkness. The theme of energy is reinforced by the intricate dial pattern, based on the traditional hemp leaf motif of the Heian Period (794-1185 AD), a symbol of growth and prosperity. Uniquely shaped LumiBrite hands and stick markers add a crisp legibility to the dial, complete with date calendar. A sapphire crystal includes anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, while the screwdown see-through caseback provides a view of the 24-jewel automatic movement with manual winding capability, a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour and a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
